Kim Kramer. She was an accomplished NCAA Swimmer at Southern Connecticut State University in the 200 & 400 IM, 100 and 200 Breast, Freestyle and Medley Relays. Kim is a self-described “pool rat” who grew up spending summers with a team like FX and eventually coached 3 years as an assistant and 1 year as a head coach of the Canton Aquanots in Connecticut. She has been teaching swimming consistently for the last 8 years as an adult swim coach for triathletes, for master swim teams, and also for children through adults at Northern Virginia Recreation Centers. She will bring a wealth of knowledge, passion for swimming and an infectious positive attitude to the FX community.
Swim Team Representative
Courtney Van Schagen. Many of you know and will recognize Courtney as our chief timer last year for A meets; clerk of course for B meets; and helping out in other ways over the summer. She grew up as an accomplished swimmer here in northern VA while excelling in her NVSL career at Hayfield where her father was the team rep there for many years. She also gained at Hayfield coaching experience and taught both individual and group swim lessons from toddler through stroke and turn. She recognizes the value of a community pool and is deeply committed to the success of an NVSL swim program as a sport and for the social and developmental benefits children and families gain from participation. She knows the league, the process, and has a young son on the Splash and her younger daughter in mini splash.
We would would be remiss if we did not sincerely thank Jon Gross and his family for their contributions and selfless dedication to the Splash over the last three years.
